Enbridge is offering Ontario homeowners who use Enbridge an opportunity for up to $5,000 in rebates by having an initial home assessment from a Registered Energy Advisor and then making the upgrades you are qualified for.
At least 2 upgrades have to be done to qualify for the rebate. You can use the contractor of your choice, but you must have a follow-up assessment to check the impact of the changes before receiving the rebate.

The Home Energy Loan Program, or HELP, allows for Toronto homeowners to borrow up to $125,000 to cover the cost of home energy improvements.

The Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program is meant for Canadian homeowners whose homes are heated by oil and are at, or below, the median household after tax income.
Eligible Canadians can receive a payment of up to $10,000 for making the switch to electric heat pump systems.

Calgary’s Secondary Suite Incentive Program provides eligible Calgary homeowners with up to $10,000 to create and register a secondary suite. More specifically, this refers to secondary suites built in the main dwelling/home (e.g., basement suite).
The program offers reimbursements for the cost of installing any and all required safety elements for a secondary suite that are not available when you apply. This includes egress windows, protected exiting, carbon monoxide alarms, and more.

Tax opportunities available to Canadians
The GST/HST New Housing Rebate offers people who have moved into or built a new home as well as people who have made substantial renovations (90% of the home renovated) a rebate on homes with a value of $450,000 or less.
In addition, Canadians located in Ontario may be eligible for further rebates offered by Ontario in a program similar to the GST/HST New Housing Rebate, called the Ontario Rebate Schedule.

The Home Accessibility Tax Credit offers Canadian citizens who are 65 years of age and over, or eligible for the disability tax credit, an opportunity to receive a tax credit for renovations done for mobility, functionality, or reducing the risk of harm.
The credit will not apply to work done to increase home value and must be done for the sake of the eligible Canadian.

The Canada Greener Homes Grant offered Canadians a grant of up to $5,000 for making eligible retrofits that increased energy efficiency and resilience.
